Appetite for Destruction, the 1987 debut studio album of Guns N' Roses, is considered one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Selling over 30 million copies worldwide, it was the first to feature the iconic lineup of Axl Rose, Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan and Steven Adler. The album spawned some of the most iconic rock anthems in history, including "Welcome to the Jungle," "Paradise City" and "Sweet Child o' Mine." It also contains the song "Rocket Queen" which features a real-life episode of Adler and Rose having sex during the recording session. The album was released in the midst of the 1980s Los Angeles hard rock scene and went on to receive critical and commercial success, propelling Guns N' Roses to worldwide fame.
