White Lines (Don't Do It)

White Lines (Don't Do It) by Duran Duran is an iconic single released in 1983 that topped the charts in multiple countries. It is the lead single from the group's third studio album, Seven and the Ragged Tiger. The song was written by Duran Duran's lead singer Simon Le Bon and bassist John Taylor and was released to great acclaim. The song's music video was one of the first to feature breakdancing and featured some of the top dancers from New York City’s street dance scene. The single was also the first song ever to feature a rap verse by Grandmaster Melle Mel, who was the lead rapper of the rap group Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. Despite its success, the track was banned by the BBC for its explicit lyrics.
